I had an older pair of cutoff Kut denim shorts that just weren't quite fitting this 49 yr old mom of 2 anymore (thanks perimenopause!) I ordered the size 6 and 8 to try on. Kept the size 6 and MAY have been ok with a size 4. I'm 5'4, 138 lbs and stay very active. For a mom bod, size 6 was perfect. If you're on the younger side, you should definitely size down. The waist is forgiving and they are a tad long, but my teen said "mom shorts are cool" so I'm going with it. So comfy and stretchy!

Do not hesitate to get these shorts. I always struggle to find a nice jean short that has a longer inseam as the shorty shorts do not suit women over a certain age in my opinion. These were perfect. The finished hem is a plus. Fits TTS which just enough stretch.
